Mega Man: Battle & Chase - Grand Prix Lap 1

Time for Mega Man & Race. With Mega Man returning to the racetrack next year in Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, I was reminded that I never covered this game on the channel. Released back on the PS1, Mega Man: Battle & Chase is Mega Man's take on the racing genre. You have items you can acquire like in Mario Kart, but you get them by defeating 10 of the enemies on the racetrack. Speaking of defeating, you have abilities that aren't tied to items as each kart, not necessarily each character, has an ability that, while mainly offensive, can be used to get an edge over your opponent(s). Naturally, we also gotta have a little Mega Man-spin on the genre too, as in the single player Grand Prix mode, upon winning a race, you can take a part from your opponent's car to use for your own. With 4 parts to get and only getting one part each victory, you will have to do basically 4 rounds of the mode to get every part, along with some extras hidden along the way.

Now, for demonstration purposes, I will be showing off every character in this first one, as well as the Japanese version, as the English version of the game, originally only released in Europe and not America, cut out basically everything that had Japanese voice acting in it, which included entire characters. From Lap 2 onwards, it will be just the English version and Mega Man.
