October 28, 2023 News Update -
The sad news of actor Matthew Perry's death earlier today in Los Angeles has left us all shocked and saddened. He was 54 years old, and died at his home.
He achieved television stardom in the hit NBC series Friends from 1994 to 2004, playing the wise cracking Chandler Bing. He will forever be remembered for that role, but he worked on television before and after that famous series.
Born in Ottawa Canada, he moved to Los Angeles and began his acting career working on guest roles on Growing Pains and Beverly Hills 90210. After his remarkable run on Friends, Matthew Perry had a few other series of his own: Mr. Sunshine (playing a sports arena manager), Go On (playing a grieving widow who is a sports talk radio host), and a remake of The Odd Couple, as well as lead of an hour-long Aaron Sorkin drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Along the way, he also made memorable guest appearances on television series dramas including The Good Wife and The West Wing.
In 2021 Perry appears with his fellow cast mates in the Friends reunion special. He also penned his memoir earlier this decade, and worked tirelessly in support of helping others with addictions that he battled to overcome in the second half of his life.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Matthew Perry's family, friends and colleagues during this very sad and difficult time.
Rest in peace now Matthew.

My favorite scene from one of my favorite series from last season - NBC's "Go On." Matthew Perry's place in television history is secure with "Friends", but he has done other good work, both as guest star and lead in other television series. 'Go On' is one of the those series that will age well - gone too soon.
In this episode, radio sports personality, Ryan King (Perry), continues to have visions of his late wife, Janie, who even in death, is still trying to help him become that 'better man.' "Because there is such a thing as creeping madness."
Christine Woods shines in her scenes as 'ghost' Janie; in a large cast of wonderful actors, Woods stands out - her connection with Perry's Ryan is as real as could be. This episode was first broadcast on NBC, October 23, 2012.
Update - great to see both Matthew Perry and Christine Woods reunited in the new CBS series 'The Odd Couple' for spring 2015 and beyond into the 2015-16 Television Broadcast season.
