The Rheinaue Park offers to families and recreation-seekers a wide range of leisure activities on a surface of 160 hectares (approximately 40 acres). The diversity of its plants and the splendour of its flowers on the grounds of the former National Horticultural Show have delighted visitors since 1979. Entry is free.

There are many attractive events and leisure facilities throughout summer, such as a boat hire, a miniature golf course, boules as well as playgrounds and barbecue areas. However, the Rheinaue Park is not only a recreational area. It is also the site of the annual ‘Rhine in Flames’ giant fireworks on the first Saturday of May, a true crowd puller.

Every third Saturday of a month from March to October, the Rheinaue Park turns into a huge flea market. Jumble of all kinds, books, household goods, toys and many other things are put up for sale on a length of four kilometres - a paradise for jumble lovers browsing through art objects, kitsch and curiosities to their hearts content. (The Rheinaue Park is easily reached by bus lines 610 and 611 and tram line 66. Car parks are available. For big events, however, we recommend public transport.)
