This is a thank you video from Meagan Wojtysiak, a Morris Animal Foundation Veterinary Student Scholar at the University of Minnesota.
Her grant is D24CA-641: Characterization of serum exosomes in conditions leading to bone remodeling.
Osteosarcoma, a highly metastatic cancer disproportionately affecting large and giant breed dogs, can be a devastating diagnosis. Therefore, the current needs of the study are to measure the biological landscape in which these biomarkers operate to further examine the transition from healthy to diseased in high-risk dogs. Doing so will expand upon the gene signature that will be utilized in early detection. Specifically, the data from this project will be incorporated in the full dataset of the larger COED study, which is intended for publication describing results, positive or negative, of the utility of serum exosomal RNA signatures to predict or diagnose osteosarcoma and other conditions associated with bone remodeling in dogs.
