Orbea Wild Stem Replacement | Bike Cave Ep 3

The 2023 #orbeawild has cable routing through the headset. It makes for an incredibly clean cockpit, but it's a pain to work with, has a lot of extra bits, and putting it back together is like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube. I've been wanting to replace the stem for a while and finally took the leap.

I'm installing:
1) Industry Nine A35 stem 32mm #industrynine
2) Wolf Tooth brand spacers and stem cap #wolftooth
3) Trail One Components The Crockett Alloy Handlebar 35mm Diameter - 35mm Rise #trail1
4) Wolf Tooth Seat Post clamp

I've noticed I make a lot of mistakes when I'm recording maintenance sessions. Lack of focus on the task at hand while trying to narrate. I made a lot of goofs here, but fortunately I caught them all and corrected them before I hit the trail.

Things I did, post-video:
1. Don't do stem work on a floor stand. I had to re-do the stem install
with more spacers because the bottom bearing of the headset
was not all the way in.
2. Bleeding Magura rear brakes is a pain in the ass.
3. Replaced the shifter cable and shortened the cable housing.
4. Don't try to align your bars in the stem while the bike is on a stand.
5. Chipped the paint on the top tube somehow during the rear derailleur work. :( No Idea.

All in all it turned out well. The ride feel was not much different than the old stem, but the positioning was a touch different. It certainly looks better.
