2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Silicone Hoses | Cooling System Upgrade

To improve the durability of the cooling system in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0, I replaced the old rubber hoses with Silicone heater hoses, and Silicone radiator hoses. The 4.0 liter engine in our beloved Jeeps is known to run hot and nothing dries out rubber hoses faster than ambient heat.

Prior to replacing my leaking upper radiator hose (and also replacing lower radiator hose and heater hoses) I also replaced the water pump, thermostat and thermostat housing. (Not shown in this video)

These silicone hoses should hold up better to heat than rubber and hopefully last a long time.
