Meghan Gerson is a brown belt from Phoenix, Arizona and the women’s program coach at Carlos Faria BJJ.

She got into Jiujitsu by watching her son and husband train for a few years, then her friend wanted to try, so they started together. Meghan loved the workout and got hooked like many of us do.

As a busy mother of two, she competed through her blue and purple belt. She remembers her first competition and how terrified she was, but how she still killed it and after that caught the bug. Unfortunately a few injuries have held her back from competition, but it redirected her energy towards coaching. Her favorite thing about teaching women is to watch them build their confidence and level up. She loves the variety of people Jiujitsu brings into her life and strives to keep growing her class by showing other gals how much the community has to offer.
