BBC 999 Lifesavers 12th February 1993 "The MV Muree Rescue" with Weather Bulletin, Continuity etc

Well, Well, Well! Tonight we were going to have a huge treat for you all. Imagine my excitement when I happened upon not only an episode of one of my favourite childhood shows; 999, I also happened upon the continuity
promos and even a weather update from the day of TX; 12/02/1993!

I set the capture to go, went and grabbed a beer and on my return; I found I was capturing a Kenny Everett tribute show! It is a bit of a risk with this
hobby; you are relying solely on the Previous Owner of the VHS tapes to provide a quality recording of the content, and in this case it was just the first reconstruction; an incident onboard the MV Muree; a Pakistani
registered ship which sunk in 1989 in The English Channel.

As you can imagine; the air became blue rather quickly as I thought I'd struck gold here with the entire episode!!! That being said, what we do have is a good capture of a good reconstruction, with some really decent Continuity

to boot, so please sit back and enjoy what we have of this early 999 episode!

But this is a good lesson to those who might consider capturing lost gems. You really are at the mercy of the original recorder of the VHS, and sometimes you just have to make the most of what you have found :-)
