Shalico is Back! 🐎💪
After five long months recovering from an injury, Shalico is finally back under saddle, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve missed riding him more than I can say. He had extra time off, more than the vet originally prescribed, just to be sure he was 100% ready. His rehab started slowly with extended yards, slopes, and small steps to rebuild muscle, movement, and confidence.
A surprise Cowboy Dressage show has popped up and we’ve set our sights on it as our first gentle goal. The beautiful thing about Cowboy Dressage is its philosophy, it allows us to meet the horse where they are, not where we wish they were. So, we’re stepping back in level and entering Walk Jog Test 1 and 2, which suit his current fitness and range of motion.
No pressure, just gratitude to be back in the saddle with my boy and excited to see where this comeback journey takes us. 💜
