Located in the Superstition Mountains, just East of Phoenix, Arizona, Apacheland Movie Ranch was built in 1959 and was open for business in 1960. Many westerns were filmed at Apacheland, both movies and television shows.
In the late 1960s, Apacheland was destroyed
by fire, and only a few buildings survived.
The sets were rebuilt, but unfortunately,
Apacheland would once again be destroyed by fire in 2004.
The studio closed for good, but the barn and chapel were moved a few miles away to the Superstition Mountain Museum in Apache Junction, Az. The chapel is most known for the 1969 movie, Charro, starring Elvis Presley.
