Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin | St. Petersburg's Most Underappreciated Church

St. Petersburg's Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin (Церковь Успения Пресвятой Богородицы or simply Успенская церковь) rests along the Neva River in the city center on Vasilyevsky Island. I would argue that it's the most underappreciated church in the center. Why? Because despite it being absolutely gorgeous, very prominent, and featured along the Neva River, pretty much nobody knows its name! St. Isaac's Cathedral, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Kazansky Cathedral - everyone knows. But this church? No one knows it. I didn't even know its name until I made this video!
