We are on the hunt for cool collectibles and old-time decorator pieces. Vintage flea markets, estate sales, and an antique mall all compete for our thrifting dollars today. Which will offer the best deals, and which will have the treasures our buyers love most?

We set out to shop two vintage flea markets, but an estate sale sign diverts us before we reach our destinations near Bremerton, Washington. This sale features colorful Fiesta, original art, and bargains we quickly claim, including a showy Fenton console set, Royal Copenhagen aftershave, an old airline hat, and other items for only $24.

Next, we arrive in Indianola, a reservation town hosting a vintage flea market. We admire a display of inexpensive 1970s enamel jewelry, buy decorative jailer’s keys, explore vintage boudoir accessories, and consider everything from colorful linens and pottery to a grand set of longhorns.

A client directs us to a nearby antique mall, where major sales bring us bargains on antique Royal Copenhagen porcelain commemoratives. We enjoy Vienna Art plates, notice Treasure Craft elfin creatures, and study mysterious cat prints with hidden meaning. Bamboo furniture with matching drinkware, a Bovano enameled bowl, and Czech caroler figures inspire ideas for refreshing our fall décor, and we carefully balance our packages as a Sasquatch greets us out front.

Farther down the road, Bremerton Flea Market and its nearby shops welcome us. Here we discover MCM decor and vintage collectibles: teak pieces, panther and cattail lamps, repurposed 1930s radio cabinets, and a restored vintage radio that now plays Bluetooth. We score a Bjorn Wiinblad wall plaque and a Spode Jewel bowl, discuss how a defunct bus fare box might work in today’s home, and relive the Seattle World’s Fair when we uncover a complete set of all eight tumblers from 1962.

Late in the day, we fit in one more estate sale, where antique furniture sells quickly. The best deal of the day appears in a waterfall-style 1930s vanity with stunning peach mirrors.
