BWV 578 Little Fugue in G Minor (Bach) rock/metal guitar cover by High Z Productions. This was absolutely the hardest song I've done yet. Very rewarding to cover my favorite Bach song but man is my brain jelly after this one.

I would add more timestamps however it would be a stream of praise for how incredible this musical piece is.

Not only was this difficult but this production was riddled with technical difficulties throughout the whole process. Either my interface or Cubase itself was acting up, my computer scrambled up a good chunk of the footage (an excuse to showcase the cat more at least), and Adobe Premiere crashed no less than 5 times trying to do anything. Given how utterly mind bending this song is to perform, doing reshoots would eat up time and energy that I unfortunately don't have. Given there's no way this video can be monetized (the checks caught the song even as I'm typing this), and accepting that nothing we create will ever be perfect, it's best to put this out, take a break, and get ready for the next project. Please understand and I hope you enjoy this video.

I've always wanted to cover this song since hearing it about a decade and a half ago. I'm glad I waited, there was no way this would have been possible without my current skill level. Even now it's honestly a little over my head but I'm still proud of what I've created here. I'm not the best guitarist, song mixer, or videographer, but to put together something that sounds like the song it's meant to be and have a video allowing me to share this performance is still an achievement that I'm glad to have finally made.

It feels like a huge musical milestone to have finished this. It's not quite the typical full band style of song I do and its technical beyond anything I've tried - I can't even begin to explain baroque music theory. I think another aspect of the difficulty lies in me not adding my own parts to this song - the other covers I do, I do my own arrangement. That makes it easier to play since it's the song I'm envisioning in my head. This cover has 100% of the notes of the original, all from someone else's head, so learning it is less about intuition and more about memorization. Definitely a different flavor of musical production for someone used to going their own way. Glad to have given this a shot!
