Biking the Custis Trail - Arlington, Virginia (GoPro Real-Time)

Come with me on a ride along the Custis Trail! I shot this video using my GoPro HERO13. I started this ride at the westernmost point of the trail, which is where the trail branches off from the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail (near Patrick Henry Drive). Once on the trail, I headed east towards Rosslyn / Washington DC - in this direction, the trail is mostly downhill. If you really want a challenge and want to knock out some hills, try it in the other direction (start in Rosslyn and head west).

One way, this ride comes out to right around 4 miles (would be around 8 miles total if you did this as an out and back ride). If you are looking to drive to the trail, I'd recommend parking at the Theodore Roosevelt Island parking area - this is near the eastern most side of the trail in Rosslyn (the opposite side from where I started in the video).

The Strava activity link I included below includes some additional mileage from the rest of my ride (I only recorded in the video the Custis Trail portion of the ride). I highly recommend trying the Arlington Triangle Loop if you are looking to get a ~17 mile ride - it strings together the Custis Trail, a section of the Mount Vernon Trail, and a section of the W&OD Trail.
