W.A. Mozart, Allegro g-moll, KV 312 (1790), Square Piano Schoene and Co. Successors to Johannes Zumpe, Londini fecit 1795
Frederick and Christian Schoene (Schön) were Zumpe's successors. Schoene invented a no-escapement action with two levers that gave the player better control. Erard adopted and modified this action. Schoene's action is sometimes called „(Zumpe's) second action“, but Zumpe had already retired at the time of the invention. The reason is probably the inscription on the nameboard by Schoene: For advertising purposes Schoene wrote Zumpe's name in larger letters (cf. https://www.squarepianos.com/zumpe.html).
