12/14/25 Advent III

Welcome to UCC Southbury. Today we enter the third week of Advent, the week of Joy. Not the sentimental joy we try to manufacture in December, but the deeper joy that rises when our lives align with God’s truth. In Luke 2 we meet Jesus at twelve years old, standing in the Temple with a clarity and confidence that surprises everyone. This is the moment he begins listening to the deeper voice within, and it offers a powerful picture of how joy grows in our own lives.

In this service we will explore the Tool of Inner Authority, a simple and meaningful practice that helps us quiet the noise around us and listen for the Spirit’s voice within us. Joy becomes possible when we return to this grounded center.

We also invite you to join us for our upcoming services.
Blue Christmas will be held here at UCC Southbury on Saturday, December 21, from 4 to 5 pm, a gentle service for anyone carrying sorrow or longing this season.
On Christmas Eve we will celebrate with a children’s pageant at 4 pm and a candlelight service at 11 pm.
