how its made: Machining a riffle bolt

This is the machining of a riffle bolt on a Star sliding head CNC machine.

Polar milling which is a method of milling a contour on the face of a part using nothing but the x axis and the C axis rotating around. This is used when a machine has no Y axis or if the profile is to big for the stroke on the Y axis or finialy as in this case the feature is needed to be on on centre so this method is the best to ensure correct position in relation to rotation of the chuck.
Radial milling using endmill from the side of the part
T slot cutter to mill the narrow slots in the part.
