Today would’ve been the 99th birthday of Indian composer O P Nayyar, born on 16th Jan 1926. A prolific composer whose career spanned over 40 years.
To remember him I’m sharing this beautiful Punjabi song by Madam Noor Jehan from the film Patay Khan (1955). It’s said that whenever O P Nayyar would hear this song, he would be in tears.
I had also read somewhere that Madam had popped across the border and sung for an O P Nayyar film titled Musafir Khana in the 50s but that information was completely false.
