a day late but do i care? no 😼
LORE:
Please buckle up because I think it's going to be real confusing to some of you. No, really, it's big brain time 🤠
Ahem. Okay, so, think of it like this. When you draw, or write, or make something, you automatically become a creator of it. Similar to how Haruichi Furudate is the creator of Haikyuu. If you make a fanfic, you're that story's author, which gives you the power to lead the story however you please, and make the characters act however you want them to act. They think whatever you want them to think, and they do whatever you want them to do.
In this case, fanon is a world controlled by the fandom. They can make the fanon characters toxic as hell, and no one would be able to do anything about it.
If you've paid attention from part one and all the hints I've been dropping, none of the things in the fanon world really make sense. Like Oikawa's bullies situation, or the fact that almost everyone hates him when he's literally popular and adored in school.
In part two and three, it was clear how the characters were very surprised about Oikawa's sudden change of behavior, and no matter how much Canon Oikawa told them that treating him like that wasn't right, they couldn't see that. The characters kept being confused and questioned what the hell did they do wrong, when in fact, they 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 what they did wrong. Because they were written to act that way.
It was mentioned in part 3 where Makki and Mattsun broke out from some sort of 'glass cage' before sudden realization hits about what they did to Oikawa, and they no longer feel confused or lost. This 'glass cage' is some sort of metaphor that they're under control. The control of the fandom. 🤕
When Oikawa cried in part 3, he mentioned how happy they were, but everything suddenly changed without a good reason. That can only mean that their true selves exist once, but are trapped, like some sort of consciousness. They can see what they're doing from inside the cage, but they can't do anything about it. And it hurts, Iwaizumi especially. That feeling of confusion and not knowing what the hell you're doing while not being able to stop pains him.
The control over Iwaizumi is stronger than the others, since in most Oikawa-centered stories, he's basically one of the main characters, and authors tend to pay attention to them more than side characters. Ya get me?
I think that's enough information for you to understand the lore and come up with a conclusion.

How the fandom portray these characters are not similar to how the canon characters would act like. Let's just think of this as an alternate universe.
There are some audio and grammar mistakes, and reminder that english is not my first language. I did not proof read or rewatch the video at all. 🗿
