As the largest religions in the world, these faiths shape the lives of billions across the globe. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism lead in the number of followers, each offering distinct beliefs, practices, and cultural influences. Christianity, with over 2.5 billion adherents, centers on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Islam, followed by about 2 billion people, is based on the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Hinduism, with 1.2 billion followers, is a complex faith with diverse practices and philosophies. Buddhism, embraced by nearly 500 million, focuses on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha). These religions not only influence individual lives but also play significant roles in global politics, culture, and societal structures. The non-religious population has increased significantly since the beginning of the 20th century and now totals over 1 billion people.
