Two recent shelter openings in NW Portland's Pearl District faced pushback - how are they doing?

ARC PDX went on the road Friday, October 17 from The Fields Bar & Grill in Northwest Portland, focusing on the neighborhood because it is the home of a recently-opened overnight shelter on Northrup Street and 15th Avenue, and an outdoor day center just blocks away on Northwest Glisan and 6th Avenue.

The locations faced major pushback from neighbors, in part because they were the first of their kind in Northwest Portland.

We spoke with local leaders, business owners, and stakeholders in the homeless community about what they have seen since the opening of the facilities.
