On the 16th of March 2025, Southern Shorthaul Railroad transferred Xtrapolis 2.0 set no.2 from Ballarat North to East Pakenham depo with diesel locomotives P17 & P18.
Our journey starts at Ingliston Bank, as we work our way through Baccush Marsh and straight into Melbourne's eastern suburb of Toorak.
The Xtrapolis 2.0 trains are Melbourne's newest EMU (electric train) and are being built in Victoria's gold rush City, Ballarat. After the trains are built and have undergone further inspection, they get transferred to Melbourne for mainline testing and storage. So far, two sets have been transferred (as of March 16th 2025) and many more are expected to come from Ballarat in the hopefully near future.
