Stave Drum 3 - Glue Up & Preliminary Jig Design

In this third episode of the Stave Drum Build Series, Todd and I glue up the raw stave shell, completing one of the most satisfying steps in the drum-building process. You’ll see how we align the staves, apply even pressure, and make sure everything stays square during clamping.

After the glue-up, we step into the electronics shop to review a preliminary SketchUp drawing for the outside-milling jig — a key part of shaping the shell to its final form. Once the glue has cured, we pull the shell from the clamps, peel off the tape, and reveal the early result of all that careful work.
