How to Identify and Treat Rose Black Spot Fungus, Diplocarpon rosae

Rose black spot disease, caused by the fungus Diplocarpon rosae, is THE MOST common disease of roses.

The rose black spot fungal infection starts out as unsightly, black or dark purple, feathery-edged splotches and marks on the leaves. The leaf surrounding the black spots, then turns a bright yellow colour and these infected leaves fall off the rose plant prematurely. This loss of leaves is not only unattractive, it also weakens the rose plant.

Weaker plants produce fewer flowers, and fewer flowers means less garden beauty!
