Hiking Trip down memory lane Morlais Castle

Took a trip down memory lane and visited an area I have not been to for 40 years. Played in the area when I was a child and have many fond memories of the area Morlais Castle, Merthyr Tydfil. The area is in the Brecon Beacons National Park. My trip down memory lane includes ruins of a castle built in the 13th Century, which still has an intact Crypt, may do a paranormal investigation in that Crypt some time. The area includes a rock face with a cave we used to climb through as children, we called it the Keyhole Cave. Morlais has an 18 hole golf course too. I take a look back inside the cave. Great views can be seen at the top of Morlais Castle with views of South Wales highest peak, Penyfan in the Central Brecon Beacons. I take a visit to where we spent a night camping which something scarey happened which put an abrupt end to our camp for the night; was it a Ghost?! Finally I take a visit to an old fishing pond where we regularly fished as children, used to love fishing in that pond. It was a glorious day and I thoroughly enjoyed my trip back down memory lane! Bannau Brycheiniog National Park extends down to the area of Morlais Castle. It was a fabulous hike which brought alot of memories flooding back! If you like to hike then pay a visit to the area.
