The last in a short series of videos exploring some of the basics of offset or multi axis turning. This one is a bud vase with a captive ring thrown in: just because I could!
The shape of the piece was inspired by memories of Cornish tin mine wheel houses standing on the edge of the Cornish cliffs. Well maybe...
I need to rethink the way of chucking the piece when doing the 2nd turning axis. The way shown is ok but it could be much better.
I do have eccentric chucks which make doing this type of turning a whole lot easier but I wanted to do this demo without. More practise needed clearly!
