Whole spine X-ray 찍을 때 몇가지 주의사항을 말씀드리겠습니다.

When you X-ray, A patient must stick to the detector.
However, if you shoot C,T,L spines with DR and combine them,
even the tiniest bit of change in position can cause distortion in the image
Especially when you x-ray L-spine, the patient's position would change if he/she was too close to the detector because of his/her hips
To prevent this, the patient must be a few inches away from the detector.
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and facing forward.
When you x-ray C-spine, C2 must be clear in the image.
But 'the open mouth position' can break balance in the entire image as the patient's shoulders and chin will be so tensed.
If it's not in a right position, C2 will not be clear in the image as maxillary bones and teeth are in the way.
That leads to the re-shooting and that leads to the patient's complaints. So it must be x-rayed in a natural position even when the patient's mouth is open.
C2 is best shown in image when the patient spreads his/her arms naturally, and slightly tuck his/her chin with opened mouth.
And to avoid distortion in the image, T and L spine should be x-rayed with opened mouth.
for acculate diagnosis, x-ray's center line must be identical in the pre and post image
it is recommened to locate center spot 3cm lower from the iliac crest to take the whole image from L1 to lesser trochanter.
