From a couple of fails, I learned that the base needs to be wide enough to support the bowl. So solution is a 1.5lb base. So in theory this is approximately a 12lb bowl sitting on a pretty heavy base.. But then there is always trimming. It kills me to "waste so much clay" But I do have a pugmill!
