Metsojen reviiritaistelu | Capercaillies Battle for Territory

Koirasmetsot taistelivat soidinreviirin herruudesta Myrskylässä aamuvarhaisella 20.4.2020. Luontokuvaaja Jone Korhonen pääsi taltioimaan tapahtuman teltastaan muutaman metrin päästä. Juuri ennen tappelua toinen metsoista oli pariutunut naaraan kanssa. Heti tämän jälkeen toinen uros haastoi sen tappeluun. Muutaman minuutin kestäneessä taistelussa ei siiveniskuja säästelty.

The male capercaillies fought for the dominance of the mating territory in Myrskylä, Finland on the early morning of April 20, 2020. Nature photographer Jone Korhonen was able to video the event that took place a few meters from his tent. Just before the fight, one of the male birds had mated with the female. Immediately after that, another male challenged it to a fight. In the battle that lasted a few minutes, no wing blows were spared.
