Jóhanna Guðrún - ÉG SÉ ÞIG (with lyrics) - Yohanna

When I heard Jóhanna's soulful version of "Ég sé þig" for the very first time, a thought immediately crossed my mind:
Wow, what an undescribleable beautiful song, what a wonderful voice, what a great artist! But no wonder, because it's Jóhanna Guðrún, Iceland's Most Beautiful Voice...❤

Well, I admit, as a giant fan of Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir I'm maybe a bit biased. But honestly, "Ég sé þig" is for me by far the most beautiful new release, which I was allowed to hear (also live!) in 2018.
It's simply fantastic, surely my musical highlight last year. But, of course, it will be one of my favorite songs also in 2019, 2020, 2021 and so on...😊

Jóhanna Guðrún and the Gospelkór Jóns Vídalín re-recorded "Ég sé þig" on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of lyricist and composer Einar Bárðarson. So "Ég sé þig" was first published on October 28, 2018 on Einar's Facebook page.

An other wellknown version of "Ég sé þig" was recorded in 2002 by the in Iceland very popular entertainer and singer Björgvin Halldórsson.

All photos from Jóhannas amazing live concerts in Salurinn and Bæjarbíó were taken by myself during my unforgetable concert visits in Iceland in 2017 and 2018. This includes the beautiful last photo of Jóhanna and her husband Davíð! It's one of my favorite photos...❤

Finally, I would like to thank Guðrún Agnes Bjarkadóttir, who checked the correctness of the lyrics I used for this video. Thank God! So she saved me to make a very embarrassing mishap - one line was totally wrong! I didn't notice that error, because unfortunately I don't speak Icelandic. But I'm always pleasantly surprised by Guðrun's patience and helpfulness, she's just great...👍
