Okinawa: A Paradice Short Ferrry Ride from NAHA | Tokashiki Island - KERAMA

In this video, I take a quiet solo trip to Tokashiki Island, part of the Kerama island chain in Okinawa. Just one hour from Naha by ferry, it’s a peaceful escape with clear waters ans sea turtle.

As you can take the ferry from Tomari port which is walkable from city center, it's a perfect destination for travelers without a car.

⛴ Access: Tomari Port (10-15 minutes walk from Kokusai Dori street) →
ferry (40 minutes by Marine Liner, 70 minutes by Ferry Tokashiki) → Hotel shuttle bus

*For a day trip from Naha, you can use the local bus to Aharen (400 Yen one way)

The turtle I saw is most likely a green sea turtle (known as honu in Hawaiian).Two types live in this area: the green sea turtle (ao-umigame) and the loggerhead (aka-umigame).The loggerhead nests only on Japanese shores, then travels all the way across the Pacific to California, passing Hawaii before returning to Japan—a mysterious migratory pattern found nowhere else in the North Pacific.
This green turtle, though, lives its quiet life here.They both live about 80 years—some even reach 100.
