This is beginners guide to clean a kingfish and most other fish types with a similar body shape. If you're a seasoned fisherman or a fish monger this is not for you. This is intended to someone who is never cleaned/gutted a fish before.
It's been said fish should not touch fresh water and I think that true but only to exposed flesh. I think its ok to wash and clean the fish in fresh tap water but never the exposed meat itself. Ideally it should be cleaned in salt water but sometimes it's just not practical if you're been given a whole unprocessed fish.
