Bill Evans Trio 65

By request from one of the followers of the channel. Bill Evans 65, "Round Midnight". The record is a "Test Pressing" from Quality Record Pressings dated 2020 hence the unadorned, white jacket. My experience with test pressings has been excellent. They have all been, in my limited experience, as good as vinyl gets. Since some watchers have alleged that recordings "are an utterly incorrect method to evaluate how vinyl should be evaluated" :) This recording is presented as a direct digital conversion to 24/96 instead of my usual live microphone procedure. My digital interface is a the same as the one I have been using of late for my live recordings, a 4th generation Focusrite Scarlett 4i4. The setup is on the video. As bonus, I also included the first part of the piece recorded on microphone for comparison. Let me know in the comments how well or not they compare. They are as closely level matched as I could get them. To my ear they sound as close as could be expected given that the live one has some "room acoustics effect" and of course my living room is not a studio! As is customary, the recordings are totally unprocessed 24/96 transfers. The miked recording part of the video, shows the MC 462 doing its thing, the direct transfer part shows only the C3 doing its own!
