Miami Stuns Ohio State!: Miami vs Ohio State Cotton Bowl Reaction

Here is my Miami vs Ohio State Cotton Bowl reaction. The College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Cotton Bowl features a historic, online rivalry. These teams rarely play, but Miami Hurricanes fans are still salty about Ohio State ending their dynasty while starting their own back in 2002. Mario Cristobal now has a chance to earn his 2nd win over Ryan Day and return the favor. Both defenses, led by Corey Hetherman and Matt Patricia, are well-crafted, disciplined, physical units that are superior to their offensive counterparts. Ohio State is the better team here because their defense and especially offense are ahead of the 'Canes. Quarterback Julian Sayin set the regular season record for completion percentage and has outplayed Miami's Carson Beck. The one edge Miami has here is their pass rush, Rueben Bain Jr, and Akheem Mesidor, against Ohio State's offensive line. I am comfortable picking Caleb Downs and Sonny Styles to shut down the Miami offense. While I believe the Hurricanes will cover, I am picking the Ohio State football program to triumph here and control Miami from start to finish.
