A Kithirian love affair | Destination wedding, Greece | George + Eleni Highlights film

I spent an unforgettable week on this little Greek island known as Kithira, capturing the love affair that was George and Eleni’s destination wedding.

They named their soirée ‘CLUB KIT’ and hosted 4 days of themed events. A welcome dinner, a beach day, their wedding and a recovery night.

When I first spoke to George and Eleni, they told me a sweet story about how both of their families happened to originate from this small, untouched island and that they just want their guests to experience Kithira and all of it’s beauty the way they do when visiting each summer.

With their wedding guests they visited local villages, feasted at their favourite Greek tavernas and visited their insider beach spots, as one massive group. Plates were smashed, dance circles were formed and gyros was served plenty! My favourite touch was the custom Club Kit merch; from towels and playing cards, to parasols and gyros wrappers.

The first few days were nothing but sunshine but on their wedding, fierce rain decided to pay a visit (it’s good luck, right?) along with an island wide power outage (yikess!). It was dissapointing but in true elegance, the couple rolled with it and just pushed back the celebrations until later that evening once the storm had passed. Which meant everyone partied until about 4am!

I was so grateful to witness George and Eleni’s love and the adoration spilling from their close knit friends and family. I walked away from the week long love affair with 2 new friends who are amazing humans and the most authentic Greek village experience to treasure forever.

The couple chose to do something different with their edit, drawing inspiration from old hollywood films. I used mixed media to achieve the more vintage vibe. Enjoy the watch!
