China’s Hope School Project & Vale: partners in social responsibility

Launched by the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) in 1989, the Hope Project is one of the most influential social programs in the country. Our partnership with the Hope School Initiative began in 2008 with the provision of much-needed support after a series of earthquakes devastated remote areas of the country. We fund 4 Hope Primary Schools, which benefit around 2,000 students and teachers in the country’s earthquake-hit areas. These schools have become a symbol of our commitment to becoming a long-term partner of China and a responsible corporate citizen.
