Gossip Girl series tribute: Chasing Cars

I started this video a few days before the series finale aired so that I could get it done today. Just trying to sum up the show, or the main events in some way:)

Umm I wish I could say it was a great finale but since they killed my otp it's pretty hard to think clearly. If you've seen my Twitter then you'll know how I feel lol. But I can never rant enough:

People have been telling me since the season 5 finale that it would not end good and by the week the season 6 finale aired pretty much everyone (in the Rufly fandom) was saying so. As the spoilers said only 2 expected couples would make it in the end. I still had hope because who else would Rufus and Lily end up with? Well Lily gets William, the man she married only because her mother told her to, who gave her fake cancer, who slept with her sister who ended up having a kid as a result, who hooked up with Ivy to lie his way back into her life. She apparently didn't think any of that as a big deal and who knows if she ever learned the truth about the last thing. Well she's done some awful stuff herself but still...even Bart would have been more logical. Stephanie Savage called this a "fun, slightly twisted way to end out Lily's romantic story." Fun.

She also said Rufus should be with someone. So apparently they called every guest star who ever shared screen time with him and found Lisa Loeb, the woman who introduces him on the stage in 1x17, most Rufly fans' favorite scene btw. That can never be re-watched now. So she was the love of his life. Makes sense.

Also "Obviously, Rufus and Lily together complicates the Serena and Dan dynamic." Because them having a kid together apparently doesn't. Scott was never mentioned again so I guess they are just pretending he doesn't exist so that there wouldn't be anything weird between Derena.

I truly can't believe they actually broke them up to have Derena happen. And acted like the 20 years didn't count in the end. Or all the promises they made to each other during these seasons. I could go on but there's only so much you can write in a description.

I do believe it would have ended differently with the original writers, they probably wouldn't have felt the need to make this "fun twist" at the end.

I am sad this is all I have to say about GG because I've enjoyed it so much, with its ups and downs. But this finale hit the rock bottom for me.
