OPAKUNA is a group of French Bretons and Otavalo Kichwas who investigate and perform traditional Andean music.
In May 2015 they visited Ecuador, they walked through different Andean communities and in Otavalo they visited sites considered sacred for the local indigenous people and performed ceremonies and rituals in the Sacred Peguche Waterfall.
The song we hear in the ceremony is a traditional song from Peguche "Chimbaloma Kayadora¨, a song that speaks of the beautiful and brave women of the community, a song in Kichwa or Kuri shimi (golden language) that is what the indigenous people of the place call it. to their original language.
