FAST Racing Neo - Hypersonic League Neon Cup

This is a capture of me playing through the Hypersonic League Neon Cup in FAST Racing Neo for the Wii U. This is a downloadable title from Shin'en.

The Nintendo Switch and FAST RMX are just around the corner, so I decided to finally post some playthroughs of FAST Racing Neo. Even though this game has been out for more than a year, I wasn't able to play it online all that much. I think the constant glitches, combined with the lengthy span between patches, simply drove people away. As a result, I had a lot of trouble finding people to race with.

Luckily, this game is more or less being remixed for the upcoming Switch, so I'll hopefully be able to find some online lobbies in that new title. In the mean time, I can brush up on my skills by beating the championship cups again. I'm completing this game on the highest speed setting: Hypersonic.

On the Hypersonic setting the ships travel at an absolutely insane speed, making them incredibly difficult to control. When the game first came out I had a lot of trouble just staying on the course in this league, but after spending some time racing online, I started to memorize the tracks and understand the physics a little better. However, even with my added experience since launch, it's still incredibly difficult to achieve first place overall in the Hypersonic League. The AI is perhaps even more brutal than it was in FAST Racing League on the Wii.

The graphics and the overall sense of speed in this game are certainly impressive, but I think the music is perhaps the crowning achievement here. Shin'en sure did an amazing job in that department. I hope you enjoy the footage.
