Snapshot of one of my all-time favorite Hammond grooves — Jimmy Smith’s Root Down, a live album released in 1972, recorded in Los Angeles and full of soul-jazz funk magic. 
I could play this all day — here’s a bit of that vibe coming through on the organ. If you don’t know this record yet, give it a dig.
