Detroit Walking. Lincoln Street Art Park & Woodbridge Neighborhood on a Rainy Day

Starting with sculptures, graffiti and murals at Lincoln Street Art Park, we continue past beautiful houses and artfully decorated yards in the tight-knit Detroit community of Woodbridge. As in the previous video, we'll be experiencing some rain showers in this one. Mother nature has not been taking it easy on us this July. Nonetheless, it creates some nice audio. In this video, we start across West Grand Blvd. from the Henry Ford Hospital, and make our way down Lincoln Street. Named for this street the Art Park is an old industrial site and salvage yard that evolved into a mural and sculpture garden. The artistry spills into the streets and onto the nearby railway viaduct, where we take a good long look at what many talented local street artists have created. From there, we'll walk through the Elijah McCoy neighborhood (as noted by the fascinating historical marker we stop at) and head back over to Trumbull across the I-94 expressway to access the Woodbridge Neighborhood. Sitting across from the Wayne State University sports fields, the start of the neighborhood is lined with small shops and restaurants. We dip inward one street and then make our way down toward Grand River Ave. There are so many stunning houses in this neighborhood, and the owners do such a great job of manicuring their properties. It's no wonder this is one of the most desirable neighborhoods for folks wanting to move into the city. Toward the tale end of the walk, we'll bounce back over to Trumbull and enter Scripps Park, passing the Colin Rose memorial plaque, and then taking in the beautiful flowers along the edge of the garden. Exiting onto Grand River, we make our way over to the iconic "Welcome to Woodbridge" sign and wrap things up with a quick look around. I really enjoyed making this one for you all.
