Hi Sir Marvin! I am a big fan of you! Thank you for your videos! At the start of the year, all of my friends were pressuring me to day trade because they said it’s “cool” and its the best way to earn money! But as I started to study further I realized that this is something that does not fit me. I still trade but I followed my own plan and disregarded all their advise.

Fast forward 9 months later, all of them have lost half of their money but I am thriving and earning! Thank you sir for all of your videos! You are amazing sir! It’s so true that for you to make money you should not follow what other people tell you!

My question sir is not connected to stocks but I have started watching also your MP2 and your recent PERA video, can you make sir a deep dive comparison between the two?

What makes them the same?

They are all tax free or can be used as a tax shelter.

You can put money on a regular basis or you can also put a lumpsum deposit.



What is the main difference?

Pag-Ibig MP2 - Is an investment where they take the money from you and they use the money for people who need to borrow money for housing.

PERA - Is an investment program for retirement to encourage people to invest. It can be in managed funds, bonds, stocks or other fixed income.



Which is safer?

Pag-Ibig MP2 - because capital is secure

PERA - since it has the possibility of you buying equities it will subject you to volatility


What are the risks?

Pag-Ibig MP2 - lower revenue from MP2 may result into lower dividends

PERA - You can lose money if the market is down by the time you need to withdraw.


Minimum Capital

Pag-Ibig MP2 - 500 Pesos

PERA - depending on the fund that you would buy but for sure it would be all less than 5,000 Pesos

Maximum Capital

Pag-Ibig MP2 - You can put as much as you an

PERA - 100,000 Pesos, anything above 100,000 Pesos won’t make it tax free.

Time Horizon

Pag-Ibig MP2 - You can get the capital after 5 years, you can start receiving the dividends after a year

PERA - You can only get at 55 years old and if you have paid consecutively for 5 years

Pag-Ibig MP2 - Only Pag-Ibig Members

PERA - Filipino Citizen, Income earner with Tin

Who should Invest in this?

Pag-Ibig MP2 - conservative investors

PERA - People who already are investing in funds but may want to save more from the tax benefit
