The Convair B-36 Peacemaker is an American strategic bomber designed by Ted Hall and manufactured by Convair.The B-36 Peacemaker was the first true intercontinental bomber and the largest bomber in physical size that has ever gone into service with the USAF. The wingspan measuring 230 ft (70.1 m) is the longest wingspan of any combat aircraft built. The maiden flight of the B-36 Peacemaker took place on the 8th of August 1946 and it went into service in 1949.Primary users were the United States Air Force.There were approx. 384, B-36 Peacemaker produced between 1946 and 1954.The B-36 Peacemaker retired from service on the 12th of February 1959.
