Today sees Lee Baxter and I undertake a 2nd little reconnaissance of the Fred Whitton route, taking in Honister Pass, Newlands Pass and Whinlatter - ahead of the event itself on 19th September. The Lake District truly provides the cyclist with stunning vistas and challenging climbs, and is as spectacular in the rain as the sun (albeit nicer to ride around in the sun!!).
Looking forward and nervous in equal measure to take on the full Fred route with Lee in September - but hope you enjoy this slice of cycling heaven!
