Two 17-year-old boys have been jailed for the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Leamington Spa. The offenders, Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, pleaded guilty to the attack, which happened on 10 May.
At Warwick Crown Court, the judge lifted reporting restrictions so the two could be named. Jahanzeb received a sentence of 10 years and 8 months and has been issued deportation papers. Niazal was sentenced to 9 years and 10 months, with the judge asking the government to consider deportation in his case.
Both will begin their custodial terms in a Young Offenders’ Institution before moving to adult prison. They were also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and given an indefinite restraining order.
