This was by far my favourite trip to date. So many beautiful scenes, wildlife, rapids, and excitement. Maybe best of all was the minimal portaging. Jesse and I traversed the popular 14 Mile Island Loop starting westbound on the French and eventually looping around and travelling back through the Pickerel River. I had read an extensive history of the Hudson's Bay Company and their compeition with the coureur des bois prior to the trip. It felt incredible to be travelling on the same routes I had read about being so essential to Canada's history.
