First day out on the spring grass 2012. I keep getting comments on you-tube and face to face " but he's not an appaloosa - he has no spots .." Duh! Appaloosa is a BREED not a colour; not all of them have spots ( though they do have to have 'characteristics' which I list in the video) and not all spotted horses are appaloosas. (if it's under 14.3 hh for instance you can be 100% certain it's NOT an appaloosa). There are two kinds, British Appaloosas registered with BAps ( which I don't think should be allowed to use the word appaloosa but that's another story ) and the American type registered with ApHC. My geldings mother was British and his father is registered with both societies. Thanks for watching.
