At ERD we have a long track record of working on complex systems used in the Semiconductor Industry.

This recent project we completed is an example of how ERD usually starts with the bits and pieces of a system and finally moves into developing the entire system.

We initially repaired the boards and motor controls used in this Brooks TurboStocker robot used in moving wafers through the manufacturing process at a very large Semiconductor customer we have worked with for years. These boards addressed many of their support issues for this no longer supported system but they still had issues with the actual robotic arms which is what is being shown in this video.

This particular robot system has 3 independent axis units and we performed a complete overhaul on this systems which even included replacing all the cables used within the system. This 20 year old robot is as close as possible to new and ready for another 20 years of use in the fab.

As clearly shown in the video we developed our own control loop so we could simulate almost exactly how the robot is used in the system. This robot is manually controlled via a terminal which we integrated into our test as we perform movements and homing procedures on the 3 independent axis.
