Now, I’m on my way to the Great Wall of China, one of the greatest monuments in the world and included in the list of the Seven Wonders of the World. This incredible wall stretches a remarkable 21,196 kilometres! 🌏

During the construction of this great wall, it is estimated that around one million labourers lost their lives. This monumental structure is over 2,300 years old. ⏳

The construction of the wall began in 220 BC by King Qin Shi Huang, and the Qin Dynasty completed this remarkable work. Despite facing numerous natural disasters, the wall now spans an impressive 8,000 kilometres. 🚧

The primary reason behind the construction of this colossal wall was to defend against frequent invasions by the Mongols.

The wall boasts an astounding 25,000 watchtowers. These towers were not merely for surveillance but also served as resting places for soldiers and storage for their weapons. 🏰

Before the construction of the Great Wall, the Silk Road was a well-known trade route. However, after the wall was built, taxes were imposed on trade, significantly boosting the country’s revenue. 💰

In 2008, Beijing, China, hosted the Olympics, and during that time, the iconic Olympic Stadium was constructed. Additionally, acrobatics, which started as a form of entertainment for the kings, continues to play a crucial role in Chinese culture today. 🤸‍♂️

Beijing is also famous for its vibrant night markets and streets, where you can find an array of brands and a variety of products, making it a colourful and bustling destination, especially during the evening. 🛍️
