As many of you know, Rev. Paul has been in the process of relocating his business. We’re happy to share that those busy weeks are now behind him, and he’s back with a new video for this month’s theme and readings. We hope it offers inspiration and connection as you journey through the week.
Week 4: The Sacred Pause: Restoring Balance
Key Idea: When life feels overwhelming, the practice of pausing—of resting in the stillness of our inner sanctuary—restores us to peace and balance.
The Course tells us: “I need do nothing.” Yet most of us have been conditioned to believe we must always be busy, always be planning, always be solving. But what if the real strength lies not in our effort, but in our surrender?
In Chapter 18, Jesus gently invites us to consider a different way: to pause, to rest, to remember that our strength is not of the body, but of the Spirit. We are not asked to do everything, but to allow everything to be guided.
Lesson 135 echoes this with a bold statement: “If I defend myself I am attacked.” It’s not that we shouldn’t care for ourselves—but the Course invites us to drop the constant defense and return to the sacred pause. In that stillness, we find that peace and direction were always available.
